Steve Burnett is the president of Hanson McClain Advisors, dedicating his time to both clients and the company. Steve joined Hanson McClain in 1996, advanced to vice president in 1998 and became president of the firm in 2000. Steve leads by example in maintaining a “doing the right thing” corporate culture. “Top to bottom, this is the way we view each and every day. Sometimes it may be easier or less work to take short cuts in our business, however, we take the time to evaluate even the smallest details to try and come up with the best possible solution.”

Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance with a Minor in Economics at California State University, Sacramento. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a Certified Fund Specialist (CFS). His financial expertise springs from his education and experience, which in turn has led to guest appearances on KXTV News 10, KTXL FOX40 and KMAX UPN 31. He is also a guest speaker on KFBK's financial news talk radio program, “Money Matters.”

His commitment to integrity is evident in his work habits. “I try to live by the Golden Rule and treat others the way I want to be treated. I'm committed to ensuring my colleagues and I provide consistent advisory services and demonstrate honesty, integrity and empathy for all our clients.”

Steve is very involved with local charities at work and outside the office. He established the relationship between Hanson McClain and the Make-A-Wish Foundation and is a regular runner in the Sacramento Food Bank's annual Run To Feed The Hungry, putting those early morning workouts at the gym to good use. Steve also supports many of the charitable events supported by Hanson McClain employees.

Steve and his wife Kelly have three children. He is active with baseball, softball, coaching Little League, and teaching his kids how to bait a hook and cast a line. During his rare and highly coveted free time, he enjoys playing golf.
